Monkfish-Poor Man's Lobster

1 lb Monk Fish
1 can  Flat Beer
1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
6 Tbsp  Butter (melted)
  Garlic seasoning*

 

  1. Pour beer in bottom of pan

  2. Cut fillets into 3 inch pieces and place on collapsible vegetable steamer over beer.  Drizzle with lemon juice.

  3. Cover and steam at a rolling boil for 10-15 minutes.  do not overcook or fish will be rubbery.

  4. Meanwhile melt the butter and add a dash of garlic* if Desired

  5. Each person will dip a forkful of Monk fish into his own butter dish.  

Serves 2 - texture resembles lobster but at a fraction of the cost!
