Bananas
on a Stick

Tbsp Butter or Margarine 4
Cups Corn Chex cereal (crushed to 1 1/3 cups 1
(8oz) bar of milk chocolate 2
Tbsp vegetable shortening 8
firm medium bananas (cut in half) 16
wooden skewers 1.
Melt Butter in Shallow baking pan in 300º oven. 2.
Remove pan from oven and add Corn Chex crumbs. Stir to coat well 3.
Return to oven about 10 minutes or until crumbs are lightly
toasted.
Cool Completely 4.
Heat chocolate and shortening on top of double boiler over hot (not
boiling)
water. until just melted. Stir until well blended and smooth. 5.
Pour into shallow dish and let cool to about 88º (about 15 minutes) 6.
Meanwhile peel bananas and cut crosswise to make 16 halfs. Insert a
skewer
into the cut end of each banana. 7.
Dip bananas into chocolate and let excess run off. 8.
Roll bananas into crumbs. 9.
Freeze Bananas until set for about 1-2 hours. Serve immediately or
wrap and
store in freezer. Note:
If chocolate becomes too thick while dipping bananas, reheat over hot
