Swiss Steak

1 large  Round Steak
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp  Pepper
1 cup Water
Large onion (sliced)
1 small Green Pepper (sliced)
1 1/2 cup Ketchup  (or 2 -8oz cans tomato sauce)
  Flour to coat steak with
  Oil to fry steaks in
NOTE: I prefer to use Ketchup in place of the tomato sauce.

  1. Cut Round steak into 4 or 5 large pieces. Coat steak completely in flour and fry in skillet until golden brown.  Remove from fry pan and allow steak to drain on paper towel if desired.

  2. In large baking dish sprayed with non-stick spray add Steak with onion slices and green pepper slices.

  3. Place water, ketchup, salt and pepper in a bowl and mix thoroughly.  Pour on top of steak, onions and green peppers.

  4. Cover baking dish and cook in oven at 350 degrees for about 2 hours or until steak is tender.

Serves 4 - Great with mashed potatoes and some of the sauce on top of them.
