Pumpkin Bread

 


2/3 c. shortening
2 2/3 c. sugar
4 eggs
15-oz. can of pumpkin
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
2/3c. nuts (if desired)
2/3 c. raisins 

 

Cream the sugar and shortening, then add the eggs and pumpkin. 

Sift the flour and blend in the baking soda,   salt, baking powder, cinnamon, and cloves.  

Add the dry ingredients to the wet and finally add in the nuts and raisins. 

Bake at 350 for 65-75 minutes.  Makes 2 bread pan-sized loaves.
