Chocolate Cherry Bars

1 pkg. fudge cake mix

21 oz. can cherry pie filling

1 t. almond extract

2 eggs, beaten

Frosting below

 

Preheat oven 350 degrees. Grease and flour 9 x 13.  

In a large bowl, combine all ingredients. 

Sir by hand, mixing well.  Pour into pan. 

Bake at 350 degrees for 25-35 minutes.  Cool. 

 

Frost with:

5 T. margarine, 

1 cup powdered sugar, 

1 c. milk, 

1 c. semisweet chocolate chips.  

In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter and milk. 

Bring to boil and boil one minute.  Remove from heat, stir in 

chocolate chips until melted and smooth. Spread over bars.   

Cut into squares when set.
