1/2 lb Butter

1/2 lb Crisco (or shortening)

6 Eggs (well beaten)

1/2 C. Orange Juice

5 to 7 Cups of flour (more flour makes a harder cookie)

2 C. Milk (scalded)

12 tsp Baking Powder

1 tsp Baking Soda

1/2 Shot Whiskey

 

Scald milk and add butter, shortening, eggs, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, whiskey and juice.  

Mix well.  Add flour until dough is workable.  

Roll dough in hand and shape cookie into desired shape.  Bake in low oven 300° until brown.  

 

Note:  More Flour will make the cookie harder and more like a teething cookie.  

 

This cookie is a great cookie to dunk into coffee.
